Crops
On a bright, sunny, spring day, a farmer began the process of planting and sowing seeds for the summer’s harvest. His efforts would bring forth food, the sustenance of life! The farmer worked and toiled with mother earth to ensure a successful harvest, without which his family would perish. The spring turned to summer, and the crops began their faithful journey towards the sun. The crops were frail and vulnerable. They needed the nurturing hand, and patience of their keeper. Soon the crops matured. The sun, and rain had provided the farmer with every element required to survive and prosper. The crops were good. The farmer and his family would continue to flourish. Earlier that spring, just two fields over, another farmer, still new at his craft, had plotted a similar course. He had planted, toiled, and waited...but soon, his impatience began to overwhelm him. “this isn’t happening fast enough!”, he muttered. Just after the small seeds had germinated below the ground, the impatient farmer was seen plowing through the field in a futile attempt to quickly replant another crop. His now destroyed crops were only days away from breaking through the top soil and beginning their journey towards the sun. By not giving mother nature the time required to work her plan, the restless farmer had sent his family on the path to starvation and ruin. Silly farmer… The moral of this story is clear...stick with it, let it work, and enjoy the fruits of your labor, your patience and your perseverance. Advertising, like farming, works this way, too. Let us work your fields, while you wait for the crops to be harvested. Be patient. Mark Storie
